IRONMAN TRAINING CAMP…..AT ITS FINEST!

June 11 - 18, 2006

YOU ARE INVITED TO HAVE A TAILORED WEEK OF COACHING AND TRAINING AT THE "MECCA" WITH WES HOBSON AND HIS STAFF.

There is no better way to improve your fitness and learn more about how to train and race an Ironman then in Boulder, CO. In addition to the location, you will be surrounded by knowledgeable and successful coaches and athletes assisting you in improving your technique in all three disciplines. The camp will be "intimate" and only limited to EIGHT triathletes for the entire week. During the course of the week, you will be alongside some of the best IM triathletes in the world.

This training camp is organized for you! Wes Hobson Performance guarantees you will want to have a rest week after training at the "Triathlon Mecca." By having a great week of training and learning, you will be better prepared physically and have the mental confidence when you toe the start line for your race.

Here are some of the things offered:

Training sessions: Approximately 28-35 hours of training for the week.

a. Swim (4+ sessions) - We take care of pool rental and Wes will be on deck during this time. We will critique each person's stroke as well as film stroke technique above and below the water. Throughout the week, your swim form will keep improving with the techniques you learn.

b. Bike (5+ sessions) - During these workouts, we will be doing 30 to 110 mile rides. These rides will be in the mountains, on the flats and a mixture of both. This also includes implausible rides from Boulder to Breckenridge….and back!!! 102 miles each way with over 12,500 feet of climbing to Breck. By the way, you still climb over 7,500 feet coming back to Boulder! When you arrive to Breckenridge, you will be treated with great accommodations for two days. We will have the ability to drop off people at various points so they don't have to ride as far.

c. Run (5+ sessions) - Runs around Boulder and Breckenridge, :45 to 2:30 in length. These workouts will be in the mountains and on flat trails. One of the sessions will be filming each athlete for technique analysis.

d. Time will also be set aside to review the filming of swimming and running.

Races: You participate in the Stroke n' Stride race (1.5K swim, 5K run) on Thursday.

Lectures:
Periodization, Nutrition, Setting and Achieving Your Goals, Mental Preparation, Mapping Your Season, Open Water Swimming and Bike Skills. These topics and others will be presented to you by the Team of athletes and coaches who will share a wealth of information with you through the seminar and lecture series.

Film Analysis:
Throughout the entire camp, the Team will always be available to help enhance your strengths and correct your weaknesses in all three disciplines. You will be filmed in all three disciplines.

Special Guests
:
We will have special guest speakers come talk to and/or train with the athletes throughout the week. These guests will include.

Requirements:

* We understand that group bike rides may splinter during the bike segments. However, in order to maintain a group atmosphere on the bike, you must have the ability to bike 100 miles in 5:45 minutes or less. This time doesn't have to be during a triathlon. Also, you will sign a waiver releasing WHP and all other coaches. We expect you to be at a relatively high level of fitness before coming to the camp.

Just a teaser:

"I did a mini camp with Wes in preparation for Hawaii Ironman. During the camp, I rode with Brad Beven, Ryan Bolton, Courtney Ogden and Wes from Boulder to Breckenridge and then back the next day. Coming from Michigan, I did more hill climbing in two days than I had done in two years. I can't say I was always the 'happiest camper' during the week, but that week paid huge dividends for my Hawaii preparation. It gave me not only fitness, but the confidence and knowledge (from such great athletes) to succeed."

Alex Morton, 36 years old from Michigan. finished the 2003 Hawaii IM in 9:37 (only his second IM race ever) and he was the second American in his age group. Alex has two children, ages 2 & 4, and a supportive wife. He works 40-50 hours a week and spends 1:30 each day commuting. The pool where he trains is 20 yards long and 88 degrees. He enjoyed coming to the Mecca to train!!!
